Sometimes you just need a good home cooked meal. As an adult, cooking after a long day at work is my best stress reliever. I find nothing more satisfying than cooking up a storm in the kitchen!
Growing up, there was nothing better than my mom’s (Dolly) delicious dinners after a long day at school and a few hours at an athletic practice. So with the chilly fall weather here and a crazy day at work, I knew that I needed some comfort food, and my mom’s famous hamburger patties would do just the trick! So they are maybe only famous within my immediate family, but they should be famous well beyond that with how good they are! They are easy, delicious and will definitely satisfy.
Dolly’s Famous Hamburger Patties
1 lb. hamburger
Onion to taste
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 c. Minute White Rice
One egg
Mix hamburger with some onion, salt and pepper, Minute White Rice and a beaten egg.
Make patties of hamburger. Fry in frying pan and drain excess grease.
Add sugar with tomato juice to taste, pour over patties and simmer until hamburger is cooked through and tomato juice thickens.
Sprinkle the tops of the patties with parmesan cheese.
Tip: freeze your leftover tomato juice to use the next time you make these hamburger patties!
