About Me

Hi! I’m Angela and I’m the voice behind Iowa Farm Grown. My blog name comes from the wonderful memories I have from my childhood growing up on a farm in Northwest Iowa. My parent’s farm holds a very special place in my heart, and I love going home to such a relaxing and serene environment. Growing up on a farm has also made me into the person I am today and has cultivated my work ethic and independence. After college, I started my career in Chicago and now call Des Moines home and absolutely love my city!

From 8 to 5 I work in corporate communications and absolutely love it. Outside of work I live life full volunteering for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa, Family Promise of Greater Des Moines, Cajun Fest, NAMI Iowa and a Commissioner for Volunteer Iowa. I am also a proud member of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute Class of 2013 and the Community Connect Class of 2014.

My faith is very important to me, and I work each day to be the best person I can be. I like to spend time with family and friends and enjoy entertaining and traveling as much as possible. I also love to cook and bake and find nothing more satisfying than making food that people love to eat!

I am obsessed with giving back to others, traveling and all things sparkly. On the side, I love to take in new experiences, am a major Hawkeye fan and am passionate about making our world a better place one day at a time.

Thanks for visiting!

xoxo,
Angela

    1. I am so happy to finally be in the blogosphere! And I feel special because you are my first comment! 🙂 So glad to hear you love the concept behind my blog and the name, too. That was a tough one for me to come up with! Thanks again!

    1. Thanks, Amber! I love that you are subscribed, too! That means a lot to me. I keep up to date on yours as well. It was just time to start a blog – but it took me a long time to come up with a URL. So, glad that you like it!
