I am fortunate to be surrounded by amazing women who coach, encourage and lift me up. I am so blessed to have so many amazing girlfriends I can turn to at any time, and I try to never take it for granted. Of course, I also have the most incredible sister in the world that knows me better than anyone else…and is my biggest cheerleader. Love you, sis!
Today is International Women’s Day, which gives me an opportunity to recognize my fellow ladies. Whether you are in college, a working mother, SAHM, single, retired, or in your (fun) younger years, cheers to you! You are special, and I can’t wait to see you go after your dreams. Friends, the sky is truly the limit!
I’ve grown up being a competitor with a desire to always do my best. Whether in school, sports, extracurricular activities, you name it, I wanted to excel in whatever I did. Ever since graduating from college, I have worked to make sure I don’t have a competitive spirit with other females and instead focus on always cheering them on. As women, all too often it’s easy to get caught up in what others are doing, what they have, and what you don’t. I swear we are the best at comparing ourselves to other other females! And just when you think someone else has it all together, I promise that she doesn’t either. Everyone else is fighting a battle, too, it just may look different that yours.
I have learned to embrace who I am and support those around me to make them the best they can be. The best part is we always have the opportunity to embrace the women in our life and learn and grow together.
So support your female friends and family and find ways to embrace your own imperfections. Trust me, we all have them!
Because we should all live by the idea that we can do anything we set our hearts and minds to. And I promise you, you can.
Cheers!
Angela
