You were a crazy amazing year. With an appearance on the Today Show, meeting a man who is so much fun to do life with and keeps me smiling, hanging out with the Governor of Iowa with my favorite ladies, speaking to my biggest crowd ever at a conference in New Orleans, work shenanigans, and finally, moving on to my new place in more ways than one, it’s been a year full of excitement, thrills and absolute happiness. Some years and chapters don’t always have the happiest moments. This year, many friends and families that I love dearly struggled, saw loss, and didn’t know if they would come around to the other side. It’s in those moments that you really have to dig deep, surround yourself with those that love you, and crawl your way forward. I’ve been there, and it sucks. It hurts and the pain is raw and real. Social media always shows the best of the best, and you don’t always get to see the struggles that happen behind closed doors. And trust me, they are there. We all have them, and no one’s life is perfect.
Here is my summary of why 2016 will be hard to top. It was the year that I made progress on not having regular anxiety, a brand new start in a new home, and an old life put totally behind. It’s hard to put into words how amazing all of that is. It almost brings me to tears.
It’s always fun to look forward to what’s next, but 2016 will be a year with many fond memories that are an incredible part of my life story. Happy New Year, friends and family! Thank you for making my year so amazing!
