I had been waiting for this trip for a very long time. It was a trip that my sister and I had excitedly planned for months leading up to the big day. It was time for our trip to California!
I knew that we would travel well together, as my sister and I are very close. I feel so incredibly blessed to have a sister who is my absolute best friend and understands me like no one else. At the end of June I had a big birthday where I turned THIRTY, so naturally I wanted to celebrate it in a big way. A few months ago, I suggested going to San Francisco and also hitting wine country because it would be a trip that we both would love. San Francisco has so many things to see and do, and I’ve always wanted to visit wine country.
So we booked our trip, planned a majority of our itinerary in the Denver airport during our layover on the our way out and had the best trip. EVER.
I will break our trip out over a few posts because there was so much packed into the five days we were in California! We started out with lunch at Fisherman’s Wharf, as it was a beautiful, sunny day. We got lucky as the temperatures were higher than normal when we were in San Francisco.
Fisherman’s Wharf was definitely a favorite spot for us, as it was within walking distance from our hotel (we stayed on Lombard Street — great location!), and we loved being by the ocean.
The afternoon of our first day in the city we took a bus tour around the city. And it was so worth it! I loved being able to see every neighborhood and all the historical landmarks in the city. San Francisco has so much culture to see and many buildings with incredible architecture.
We loved seeing the Golden Gate Bridge! We were very lucky because there was no fog the day we went over the bridge. Although I was the only one wearing a tank top with no coat, and it was beyond CHILLY. Next time I will definitely bring a jacket! Pretty sure our bus driver thought I was completely crazy. He continued to tell us to put our coats on over over, and I knew he was referring to the crazy curly haired girl in the back of the bus…aka me. Note to self: next time wear a parka!
This view. Holy wow.

At night we met up with my childhood friend, Nicole, and her husband for a Giants game. Talk about a blast! It was so fun to see Nicole and spend time with her in her home city, as well as finally meeting her husband.
The stadium has a gorgeous view of the bay. Seriously, could it get any better?
Of course every event requires a photo shoot. This is way too beautiful to not be called picture perfect!
Our first day in San Francisco was an absolute blast! So much fun and can’t wait to share more with each of you about my amazing birthday trip.
