{St. Patty’s Day Chicago Style}

Last weekend I took a road trip to Chicago to celebrate St. Patty’s Day with my girlfriends! It was so fun to be back in the city and spend time catching up with some very dear friends.

When I arrived in the city Friday night, my girlfriend, Emily, and I kicked off the weekend at Topo Gigio in Old Town. It’s my absolute favorite restaurant; if you are ever in Chicago make sure you check it out. I love this historic part of the city and wish I would have spent more time there when I lived in Chicago. Whenever I am back in the city this neighborhood is a must stop!

After dinner we grabbed a drink at a new bar in Old Town called Woodie’s Flat to cap off the night.

Saturday morning we kicked off the day with breakfast with a view. The view from my girlfriend’s apartment is seriously incredible! I would love to look at this view every single morning.

After breakfast we donned our green St. Patty’s green and headed out with some of Emily’s girlfriends for the day! We had a blast watching basketball, hanging out and checking out some fun bars in Chicago.

Loved spending the weekend with my favorite girl!

Saturday night we had pizza at D’Agostino’s Pizza and Pub in Wrigleyville. So delicious!

When Sunday morning came, I was sad it was time to head home but grateful for a fantastic weekend in the city! We capped off our weekend by dining at West Egg Cafe, which is a childhood vacation favorite in my family. And my old co-worker, Diane, joined us for brunch!

I rode out to Chicago with my good girlfriend, Ashley, and of course we had to make a stop at the World’s Largest Truckstop on Interstate 80 on the way back!

It was a fantastic weekend with lots of R&R, which was exactly what I needed. I loved having a weekend full of girlfriends and giggling. I swear there is nothing better for my soul!

How did you spend St. Patty’s Day?

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
